Forest Service: Brush Lake Trail is on Forest Service lands about 30 minutes drive north of Bonners Ferry. It’s an intermediate ride with relatively small elevation gain that beginners might tackle to hone their skills. The trail constitutes about a six-mile loop around small Brush Lake; many bikers also reverse-ride the route to make it 12 miles. For more info, click here.
Forest Service: The Clifty trail is a fun high-elevation ride with several short, steep ups and downs. There is a short spur trail that takes you up to Clifty proper and is well worth the hike. Park at the bottom of the Katka Trail, ride up the road to Black Mountain and the Clifty trailhead. For more info, click here.
